Replace once per year
The patented Ionic Silver Stick (ISS) uses the antibacterial effect of silver to eliminate over 650 bacteria and viruses. The silver ions given off by the ISS actually break down the cell walls of bacteria and viruses present in the water, which kills off the bacteria and viruses. The ISS starts to operate as soon as it comes into contact with water, even if the unit is turned off. When it is in contact with water, the silver ions dissolve until the required concentration is reached in the water. The silver ions given off from the surface of the Ionic Silver Stick are automatically replaced as needed from the internal storage of the ISS. This is how the ISS maintains its effectiveness for so long.
