Which model should I choose?
All AIR-O-SWISS Ultrasonic Humidifiers use the same high-quality parts and include a 3-year manufacturer warranty. All models will provide nearly identical performance, and the main differences are:

• Humidistat Control (Mechanical Dial or Digital Display):
  Mechanical dial controls are simple and easy to use (just turn a dial higher or lower to adjust either the mist intensity or the maximum desired humidity level). With a mechanical dial model, many customers choose to add a hygrometer to monitor the room's humidity levels, as these models do not display actual room humidity levels. Digital Display models show a readout of the actual room humidity level, and the digital control panel allows you to set your maximum desired humidity level as well. In addition, digital display models offer additional features such as a shut-off timer and pre-programmed automatic and sleep modes.
• Water Tank Size (Capacity):
  The size of the water tank determines how much water the unit can hold at any one time. The larger the water tank, the longer the unit can run between refills (all models hold enough water to last through the night on a single fill).
• Cosmetic Design:
  Many people prefer to use a humidifier that not only works well, but also looks nice and fits in with the room decor. AIR-O-SWISS Ultrasonic Humidifiers are available in a variety of shapes, sizes, colors, and designs. The cosmetic design of the model has no effect on performance (in fact, in many cases the only difference between models is the cosmetic design).

What accessories will my humidifier include, and how often will I need to use and replace them?
All of the humidifiers on our comparison chart include a silver/hydro stick, a demineralization cartridge, and a sample packet of EZ Cal Descaler and Cleaner. The Silver/Hydro Stick sits in the base of the humidifier and is an optional accessory that helps keep the humidifier fresh. The stick is self-regulating and lasts for a full year. Another optional accessory is the EZ Cal Descaler and Cleaner which will help with cleaning the humidifier. The recommended cleaning interval is once every 2-3 weeks. However, your cleaning frequency will vary based on the mineral content in your water, and many customers report that they are able to clean less frequently than the recommended interval. Some of our customers use distilled vinegar instead of EZ-CAL which can have a similar impact at breaking up mineral deposits, but most prefer the EZ-CAL cleaning solution as it does not leave the humidifier smelling like vinegar. Finally, there is a demineralization cartridge that is also optional but strongly recommended if you are using tap water. Depending on the mineral content in your water, the cartridge should either be replaced or refilled approximately once every 2-3 months. Refilling the cartridge is more economical than having to purchase a new cartridge each time, as the cartridge refills are sold in packages of three. The refill process has recently been improved so that it only takes a couple minutes longer than simply throwing out the old cartridge and installing a new one.
